Why the Rebrand?

On January 27, 2026, Anthropic issued a trademark dispute forcing a rebrand from "Clawdbot" to "Moltbot" due to similarity to "Claude."

How Scammers Exploited the Rebrand

1. During account rename, Steinberger made a critical error
2. In ~10 SECONDS gap between releasing old handles and claiming new ones:
